Milestone garden party

Burgundy (Pink or Red) with a Cherry on Top

When it came to planning this milestone celebration, the colour palette was central to bringing the vision to life. Finding out what kind of vibe she wanted for her 18th, along with setting the practical parameters of budget and scale, helped define the creative direction from the beginning and every decision that followed.

The design concept

The process began with a series of moodboards exploring colour, decor, and lettering and illustration styles. This stage allowed the visual narrative to take shape before Becks moves onto the logistical planning, booking suppliers, securing the venue, and hiring furniture etc to complete the setting.

Each design detail was considered and hand crafted with intention. Hand-lettered invitations, a custom spray-painted burgundy card box, bespoke signage, and a hand-painted wayfinding board all carried through the chosen colour scheme of pinks, reds, and burgundy tones, tying the entire aesthetic together beautifully.

Food and drink styling

A mobile pizza company served over sixty handmade, stone-baked pizzas, freshly prepared and hand-stretched on-site, a relaxed dining experience that suited the garden setting perfectly. After dinner, the card table was transformed into a chic brownie station in place of a traditional cake, styled simply with black cherries and miniature chalkboard signs denoting each flavour.

The bar area was designed to complement the wider theme, with miniature disco balls that were suspended above the bar to create a subtle focal point, while stainless steel tubs and wooden crates introduced texture and warmth, giving the setup a refined yet relaxed aesthetic.

Event styling on the day

After an incredibly hot day of setting up, as the sun set and the lights began to glow, the space truly came alive the garden itself became the perfect backdrop. Styled with relaxed lounge areas, a gold shimmer wall with neon sign, giant disco balls, and disco ball vases filled with pink, red, and burgundy dried florals.

Paper lanterns and plenty of twinkle lights created an atmosphere that felt both fun and intimate.

A photobooth, tucked discreetly into a corner by the DJ, offered guests a moment of fun with hilarious props and created a charming guestbook keepsake for the birthday girl.

Bringing this celebration to life from moodboard to final styling was such a rewarding process, and a wonderful reminder of how thoughtful design, careful curation, and personal touches can transform a simple idea into something truly memorable.
